I was out of shape.

I couldn’t believe that I had once taught yoga annually. When I got pregnant with my first child, I wanted to do yoga until it was no longer workable. I had a rough time right after I gave birth. I didn’t believe well, and going back to my yoga routine was not a priority for me. I was enjoying being a mommy much too much to want to worry about working. Then, one day, I looked in the mirror and I realized how much I had let myself go. I was twenty pounds heavier and more than one full sizes bigger. I knew I had to get back into shape. I hunted out my yoga mat and headed to the yoga studio. Where I once had taught, I was now being taught how to attain my pre-baby weight. I saw many people who were once my students and instead of laughing at me; they welcomed me back. It surprised me that so many of the students were here because they were modern mommies, or just mommies with youngsters. The people I was with and I all had some weight to lose, and all of us all wanted to return to our pre-baby weight. I pulled out my yoga mat and started going through the warm-up. The yoga that had been so straight-forward now took a bit of effort. I had to force myself into the more advanced yoga stretches. I knew I would get back into shape, and the yoga would once again come straight-forward. Until then, I just appreciated being with my friends and did the best I could.
