I thought my son was hilarious when he first got into his own apartment.
I told him he had to call the HVAC company to look at his HVAC system.
I said I would cover the costs for whatever repairs he needed, even though the landlord should have handled it. Of course, I didn’t want my son to be stuck with poor air quality or anything like that. When the HVAC professional arrived, my son was acting shy like he didn’t want to answer the door. When he eventually worked up his nerve, it was a female HVAC technician and she was pretty. He lost his words and I invited her in. My son finally started asking her questions, some related to what she was doing, but he also asked her to dinner. She said she couldn’t do dinner that night because she was busy, but she gave him another day and asked if that would work. I was totally stunned. Here was my college student son asking out this lovely HVAC professional and he wasn’t turned down! They started dating regularly after that too and he learned so much about HVAC systems and maintenance. Ever since he started dating that HVAC worker, he has been spot on with the air quality in his apartment and he even invested in a couple of UV air purifiers. He later bought one for me too to use in my home. My son has always been very thoughtful, so I can’t say that I’m surprised he can be a lady’s man from time to time.
