I gave my boss lots of warning about the AC

Six months ago, my boss promoted me to the night shift manager job. I got two dollars an hour more money and keys to the store. It’s my responsibility to lock up at night and take all of the money to the bank for deposits. I have a routine that I follow every night so I never forget to complete the job properly. At the end of the shift, I carry the deposits in a lock safe bag. I lock all of the doors in the back of the building, turn off the lights and the AC thermostat, and head out the door before the alarm sounds. I have about 45 seconds to complete the tasks and then the alarm will sound if I don’t have the front door closed and locked. My boss made me complete the routine three separate times before he agreed to promote me. It costs $250 bucks if the alarm company has to be called due to an employee error. A couple of days ago, I turned off the thermostat and noticed the indoor temperature was 76, even though I set the temperature at 72. I thought it was strange, but I didn’t have time to stop and check anything. I forgot about the problem the next afternoon until I was getting ready to leave at the end of the night. I noticed the same weird temperature anomaly, so I left a note for my boss the next day. That was two days ago and today the AC stopped working completely. I tried to warn my boss about the AC problems. He still seemed shocked and surprised to learn the news.
