On Thursday afternoons, I am in charge of opening the restaurant.
I have been working at the restaurant for various years.
Thursday afternoons are regularly busy, because we have a lot of prep work to complete. The two of us have to chop 50 lb of onions, potatoes, orange peppers, and jalapenos. The two of us have to slice tomatoes, cucumbers, and make salad. I had a long list of prep work to complete on Thursday morning, so I was entirely upset when I arrived at work and the indoor air was warm and stagnant. It didn’t suppose love the A/C had been running at all throughout the night. I evaluated the temperature on the control unit and it was registering 68 degrees. I hastily realized that the button was switched from cool to off. Someone turned the A/C off on purpose or by accident. As soon as I turned on the control unit and pushed the button to cool, the A/C came on and cool air started blowing out of the vents. I am not sure which one of the night shift women made the mistake, but it was terribly uncomfortable in the morning when I arrived at work. Thank goodness it only took a couple of ninths for the kitchen to cool off. By the time purchasers started to arrive for supper, the kitchen was much more comfortable. I was upset that we might have to call a service service and that could have taken all day. The two of us do not have a commercial Heating, Ventilation and A/C provider on retainer, so we often get stuck waiting for service.
