Work had been rough the past couple of weeks.
Our boss seems to be making deadlines tighter and tighter and demanding higher and higher work quotas… I understand that it’s a tied up time of year for us, although I recognize appreciate he is pushing us too hard. I’m one of those employees with a can do attitude, and I’m pretty proud of the fact that I almost consistently get the job done on time! However, even I was praying for a cut of some sort, that cut came Monday shortly after dinner, when both of us returned to our office to find that the air conditioning had entirely shut down. It did not take long at all for our office to be very tepid and sweaty, as it is late summer. The people I was with and I trudged through the rest of the day, as miserable as can be, hoping that an HVAC business would come soon. Our boss seemed unsure of when this HVAC problem would be resolved, then an HVAC business never came, but he still told us to come into work the next day. When both of us arrived the next morning, there was still no air conditioner at all, and by noon, both of us were downright angry that both of us were toiling in such conditions, but right before both of us all went to find the boss to demand that both of us be allowed to leave, he came in shortly before dinner to announce it was time to go condo in a manner that advised he was frustrated that both of us showed up in the first place! You know what? I hope that air conditioner does not get fixed for a good long time, so I can appreciate some time off at condo with our own air conditioning!
