I pay a lot of attention to people and I tend to pay less attention to machines. And this is something I entirely want to get better about. Of course, I will regularly care for and pay attention to the people in my life more than the stuff that I use. However, I entirely want to be better about taking care of the stuff I own. From the HVAC unit to our automobile to my home, I believe I can be more attentive. I started with my automobile last year. It’s a pretty nice automobile and only about 4 years old. Yet, I haven’t been as consistent as I’d love to be about maintenance. But the past year, I have gotten oil changes exactly when I was supposed to and even took it to the dealer for a designated check. This helped me to also pay more attention to the HVAC device in our home. It’s not old but it’s not quite halfway through its life either. To that end, I’m being way more consistent when it comes to caring for the HVAC unit. That means changing the air filter every month. That’s not every other month but making sure there is a clean, new HVAC air filter in the HVAC return every month. Again, I have failed to make sure the HVAC device got the maintenance it needed seasonally. So, I’m pretty pleased that I’m at least paying more attention to the HVAC equipment. Quality heating and air is essential to our cabin so it should be treated as such.
