I won the contest with my makeshift cooling system

For the math honorableat our school, I made the decision to try to make a makeshift cooling system, but i got a few weird ideas online and then we knew what I would try to put together.

I absolutely got a cooler that I would pack full of ice.

I got some copper tubing that I carefully bent into a spiral shape and connected it to a fan, my whole reason for doing this was going to be to have a coil system with cool water flowing through it, however when the fan blew the air, the air would be cooled down because of the ice-freezing water flowing through the tubing. I hooked the tubing up to a water pump and then we put the ice and the water in the cooler. I had the tubing linked so that the water would keep on recirculating back into the cooler. When I had our makeshift system working, I thought it was pretty good. It absolutely was able to cool myself and others down crucially. It legitimately worked a lot better than just the fan running on its own. When I had the makeshift cooling system at the math fair, I absolutely ended up winning 2nd place! The first place project was pretty cool too. There was a guy that made a solar powered heating system. It worked pretty great too, better than our makeshift cooling system, and not to mention, he was able to utilize the energy from the sun to make his labor while I had to keep adding ice water to mine.
