Jogging down the cooling system repairman

Last June, I had a concern with my central cooling system.

Without any warning whatsoever, it completely quit while in the middle of the night.

I realized there was an issue when I woke up to an harshly hot house. I fiddled with the thermostat, messed with the settings on the cooling unit and updated the air filter. That is the extent of my concernshooting knowledge and none of my efforts worked. I then called a local Heating and A/C company and arranged a time for repair. They assured me that a licensed company would show up at the condo between 10 AM and 2 PM. I was not blissful about waiting around all afternoon for cooling system repair. I was forced to take the afternoon off from work. The condo was so hot and sticky that it was hard to accomplish anything. I really wanted to get a workout but was reluctant to run on the treadmill in such hot conditions. I waited around for the repairman until 3 o’clock. When he still hadn’t shown up, I assumed he wasn’t coming at all. I decided to go for a run outside. The temperature was up to 86 degrees, and my 6 mile run was excruciating. I was not happy that I was headed back to broken cooling system. As I jogged up my street, I saw the Heating and A/C maintenance van pulling out of my driveway. The repairman had finally shown up, knocked on the door and realized nobody was home. There was no way I could let him leave separate from fixing my cooling system, despite my exhaustion, I sprinted down the road, waving my arms and shouting at the Heating and A/C van, fortunately, I was able to flag him down.
