The AC froze up when it was 105 outside

The AC is a equipment that works hard to keep your beach house cool.

  • The AC uses refrigerant to cool the air inside of your home.

As the air moves through the machine, it is cooled by the refrigerant and then introduced back into your beach house using the air duct system. When it’s severely sizzling and humid outside, the AC equipment can’t work well past a particular point. If you run the AC equipment too hard, it will often freeze up and no longer work. There is no way to cure a problem with a frozen AC. The AC equipment has to be turned off and then all of the ice needs to melt. I do my best to keep this problem from happening frequently. I consistently keep the air filter wash and free of debris. I also make sure to keep the temperature relatively comfortable but not too low, but you can’t expect the A/C to work well when it’s 105°. My method froze up last Sunday, although I was doing everything possible to make sure the AC could run well. Occasionally there actually just isn’tanything that you can do. I turned off the equipment and It took 3 hours for All of the ice to melt. All of us had a big puddle of water in the hallway by the A/C. Thank goodness all of us do not have any carpets or carpet in the area. It would have been a much larger mess if all of us would have been forced to wash the carpet after all of the trouble with the A/C.
