My brothers and I run a wood shop and we really love it. We have been doing it for the past few years and we have figured out that one thing that we really have to be careful about is the humidity levels inside of the shop. When we first started doing our work and building our own custom cabinets and furniture, we didn’t really realize just how important it was for us to have proper humidity levels in the shop all the time. But then when some of our lumber and hardwoods started to warp or break occasionally, we realized that we were going to have to do something about the indoor air quality in our shop right away. We knew that if we didn’t, we were going to be losing a lot of money on our stock and also maybe even in our finished products. Neither of us wanted that to happen, because we both work really hard on our projects and having them warp because of poor indoor air quality would be just awful. Anyway, we ended up hiring a commercial HVAC technician to come and work on the HVAC system in the woodshop and now everything seems to be working great. As long as we keep the humidity at the right levels inside of the shop, everything seems to be fine. Running a wood shop is really fun and productive and I love all of the stuff that we come up with. We just have to make sure to have the HVAC company come and check everything for us every now and then to be sure it’s working correctly.
