My humidifier needs to be cleaned

My air conditioner and my furnace aren’t the only HVAC units that I have in my house.

If your house is located far in the North, then you probably realize that air conditioners and furnaces have the same problem in our neck of the woods.

Your air conditioner cools the air by eliminating the moisture from the air in your house. That is how you are able to have cooler air in your house, and it also helps people that live in humid climates. Your furnace works much in the same way. By heating up and forcing the warm air throughout your entire house, the air in your home becomes very dry and depleted of moisture. The only problem that I have with this is that our climate is very dry no matter what time of year it is. If our two HVAC units are constantly removing the small amounts of moisture in our air, then we are going to struggle with dry and cracking skin along with chapped lips. This is why I have a humidifier in my house. The humidifier works by added liquid water into a holding tank. This moisture is heated by the HVAC unit and pumped into the air to add more humidity. By using a humidifier, I am able to have moisturized skin and lips. You can even order one of the HVAC units that allows you to feed a water line into the dehumidifier so that you don’t have to constantly add water manually. The only trouble with this whole system is that I have to clean the HVAC unit often. Our water has a lot of calcium in it, and it turns everything white and crusty.
