If you have ever been in a temperature where there is no need for a heater, you will likely remember what it was love to not have to put up with dry air complications, however i grew up in a temperature where it was warm all year long, & I don’t remember ever turning on the central heating… Every one of us used the cooling system or nothing.
I do remember that it was a nice relief to be able to open the windows during the Winter months & be pretty comfortable, however now, I live a bit farther north, & I have to say that for at least a few weeks a year, we entirely do need our heaters.
I, but, undoubtedly do not like to run the gas furnace because the dry air associated with forced air heating causes me all sorts of grief. I almost regularly get cracked lips in the winter. I go through about a pound of hand lotion every month, & worst of all, I get headaches from the dry air the gas furnace puts out. I guess the headaches are the result of our sinuses getting dried out while I sleep, & that dryness is both naturally occurring & worsened by the artificial heating in our homes. I guess this is going to happen every year, so I wait as long as I possibly can to turn on the heater. When the news starts giving freeze warnings & talking about burst pipes, that is when I guess I have to supply in & just turn on the heater, maybe this year, I will get a humidifier for our bedroom.
