Job on the front lines

I’ve been waiting numerous months for our boss to finally give me a solo project.

I’ve paid our dues and put in a lot of extra hours.

I saw 1 of our co-workers get promoted before me, and I tried not to take it personally. I thought the time would never come, until last Tuesday. My boss pulled me into the office on Tuesday afternoon and provided me the good news… He finally had a solo project for me to head. I was enthusiastic when he explained the project, which was going to be supervising the building of a cannery. It was a bizarre task, because the people I was with and I do not have numerous calories in the area, and as I continue to listen to our boss, I realized that he said the task was in the Last Frontier state, however stopped our boss from talking, and I asked him if he could repeat the location 1 more time. He told me not to worry about the cold un-even temperatures. He was going to set me up with a legitimately nice apartment only 3/4 of a mile away from the task site. I would also have a supplier car, and I could choose any make and model in our supplier vehicle selection. My largest fear is the cold un-even temperatures. I am going to be in the section when it’s 20 or 30 degrees outside all afternoon. It’s a sizable change from our normal weather. The boss promised the apartment would have a nice gas furnace that was working well. He even told me that the apartment would be furnished and sizzling and ready when I arrived. Even though the cold cold un-even temperatures have me sad and scared, knowing that the place will have a new gas furnace makes me assume better.
