Our favorite uncle was on his way to the house, and we were all so excited.
He was off work, and we would get to spend the entire day with him.
Mom and her brother are pretty close. But, it hadn’t been that way for some time. Mom got married to our dad, and they moved away from the area. Things weren’t good since dad was abusive and mom wanted to hide that. So, she distanced herself from her brother and family. However, one time it got so bad, she broke down and called uncle Jim. He was at work, but he got in his truck and drove 10 hours to our place. Dad was arrested, and we got to leave with uncle Jim to stay at his place while mom recovered. Now, it’s been three years, and all is well in the world. We are in school, mom is working, and we have our own place. Uncle Jim is always here taking us out to lunch, dinner, breakfast, icecream, and so much more. On this day, we had an ice cream date, but mom had to wait at home for the HVAC specialist. We’d been having issues with the air quality at home. The house smelled stuffy and it was getting worse. Mom knew it was coming from the air conditioner and turned it off. She then phoned the HVAC company so they’d send an HVAC specialist to get to the bottom of the bad air quality in our home. Uncle Jim also suggested mom could look into getting a HEPA filter since it did an excellent job at his house. Mom said she’d ask the HVAC specialist and we left.
