On this day of age, about every year something new comes out. This is true when it comes to new cars. Every year a new model of a certain brand comes out and replaces the older model. The newer model always has new features or it’s updated, becoming more economically efficient and money-saving. This is true when it comes to thermostats and HVAC systems. With thermostats they have changed in the last twenty years or so. Homeowners have steered away from thermostats that you would have to turn and are now purchasing digital ones. Some thermostats now are touch screens and you can change the temperature and setting just by touching a digital screen without having to press actual buttons. When it comes to having a thermostat in your home it’s extremely important to have it set to some sort of schedule. When I’m not home I will set the thermostat to at least seven degrees colder than what I have it set to during the winter time. By doing this I’m not only saving energy but a decent amount of money as well. There are even thermostats with a setback mode. This setback mode can cut heating costs from 20 to 75%. Depending on the type of thermostat that you do get there are many different models and varieties. Thermostats get the job done but make sure that you consult with your HVAC technician or do some research first before you purchase a thermostat for your home.
