Accidentally ruining the gas line on our oil furnace

When the people I was with and I decided to build our house, the people I was with and I also decided to have a gas oil furnace installed in our house, and we were convinced that using a gas oil furnace was a lot less costly than using an electric oil furnace, plus it would be easier to hook up a generator to use a gas oil furnace rather than an electric oil furnace… Our gas oil furnace is located in the attic, however the people I was with and I have an unusually sizable attic, then the gas lines for our oil furnace run on top of the flooring, which means that the people I was with and I have to be careful to avoid tripping over or breaking the pipes that lead to the oil furnace, however for 5 years, the people I was with and I had never had trouble with our oil furnace.

That was until sureterday, and it was the end of summer, as well as it was finally time to carry the air conditioner upstairs as well as switch to the oil furnace shortly.

While carrying the air conditioner upstairs, I was having a difficult time seeing where I was walking. I usually put the air conditioner close to the door, however our husbandy had put something there instead! As I was carrying the air conditioner, I tripped very difficult on the gas line to the oil furnace, breaking the seal. Immediately, the odor of natural gas flooded the attic. I closed the door as well as ran downstairs, trying to call the Heating as well as Air Conditioning worker to come immediately. I knew that natural gas could cause an explosion in our house. The Heating as well as Air Conditioning worker came out shortly, fixed the oil furnace, as well as reminded myself and others to be careful in the future. It wasn’t our fault that I had to put the air conditioner in a current location
