You think what they say, you never want to be digging ditches on the side of the road for the rest of your life.
Well, while it lasted, it helped me to stay in shape plus get an awesome tan; well, a farmer’s tan anyway. Still, the oppressive southern heat was entirely a potential killer, plus I am blissful the people I was with and I had plenty of water to drink out there. I have to confess though, I am even more blissful that now I work in an air-conditioned space! I am the assistant manager at a convenience store now. Again, a rather underwhelming job title, however you have to be thankful for what you get. Now, I am behind the counter of a cool, air-conditioned building while I see hard-working green-collar types come in from the heat for a refreshing drink plus a quick bite to eat, or a heineken at the end of the day. I’ve made several friends with particular purchasers over the past few weeks, plus I am only too blissful to offer a space for them to cool off plus take a breather. Obviously, it’s because I think how strenuous people who have to work out in the elements have it. I have to confess that the a/c in the convenience store that I work at is entirely better than the 1 I have at home! I suppose it’s high time I had our Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C component replaced. It’s the 1 that came with the house, plus I can’t even think that it is still working, at least somewhat.
