I am a single gal in his mid twenties, I live down south and I work from home, then my siblings are there and I see them fairly often, then in the summer time I make the trek up north to stay with my parents.
I get to see them for 2-3 months and my work isn’t affected.
I just need to set up a workstation and I am good, but recently I have gotten smart about leaving my house. I used to just turn off the HVAC, let my plants die and figure I was coming condo to a mess, and now I have everything all set up. I purchased pods that store water and slowly water my plants overtime. I also have my siblings grab my mail once a week. I then purchased myself a smart thermostat. I don’t need to turn off the HVAC completely anymore and come condo to mold. In the summer time I only need to worry about AC to prevent moisture in the house, however so I set the cooling function reasonably and leave. While in the north I check my condo temperature and thermostat settings in the condo each day! Occasionally I make minor adjustments and periodically not. What is super great is the thermostat even alerts me about humidity changes in the house. So I don’t even need to watch as carefully as I am; The thermostat also texts me about energy savings, air filter changes and any movement in the house. It has made everything so much easier and more good when I go to the north. I no longer freak out about leaving the condo and coming condo to a disaster.
