Carbon monoxide myths

Carbon monoxide is an odorless and tasteless gas.

The odor people suppose is CO, are byproducts of burning fuel. A hour myth is that carbon monoxide is only available when burning fuel. Contrary to that, it is available in the air all of us breathe, and our bodies use a certain CO amount to function. Another regular myth is that homeowners should not trust CO alarms as they are notorious for false alarms. But the truth of the matter is that newer models are not as sensitive as older models that could very turn on. Another myth concerns how you should treat CO emergencies. People suppose that it is treated the same as fire emergencies. Carbon monoxide does not double as fast as fires. Instead, CO levels double over time. Carbon monoxide alarms are set to sound an alarm as soon as CO levels get dangerously high. Another myth is that you can tell when there is excessive carbon monoxide gas in the house. Yet, some symptoms of CO poisoning may be flu-like thus may escape your attention. Therefore, installing a CO alarm is very substantial, as it will alert you to a concern you could have assumed as something else. Some people still suppose that carbon monoxide is not dangerous, but carbon monoxide is a silent killer that kills several people worldwide. Some suppose CO is heavier than air, and smoke signals should not be placed high in the ceiling. Contrary to that belief, CO is much lighter than air, and it is ok for smoke signals to be put high in the ceiling.
