Changing my heater

I am officially done with Winter time as I have come to think it.

The months upon months of dealing with high temps that never reach above freezing are over.

The shovels, snow plows and ice melt are also a thing of the past. I’m not even going to sell them. I suppose I’ll give all that stuff to the young couple down the street. They are just starting out and could use them. But, where I’m going, I don’t even need a furnace anymore. I can hardly guess it. The two of us have raised our family, completed our work objectives and are ready to transfer on. Retirement down south awaits. I am no longer going to have to worry about whether the furnace will make it through the ugliest part of Winter time without a breakdown. I won’t even have a furnace where I’m living next. In fact, the Heating and A/C plan we will be relying on does all of the heating and the cooling. Of course, I am talking about the heat pump. It is such a versatile machine. The temps in our new community are super scorching for about 3 months while I was in the summer. The heat pump will do a super efficient task of cooling the home while I was in that stretch. However, the other 9 months, the weather and the temps are glorious. There is still a bit of a Winter time we will still encounter. I suppose I can handle the occasional low in the upper 30’s. I’m told the heat pump does an amazing task of warming a house while I was in the Winter time down south. I can’t imagine I will need it all that much. But, I sure am ecstatic to trade the furnace for it.
