I’m an HVAC technician and I honestly love what I do.
- It’s great being able to meet people from all different walks of life, and the job is fulfilling because I help people out for a living.
The money is good and I know I have excellent job security because my services will always be in demand. It’s not always a bed of roses though, there are plenty of stressful situations. Sometimes I will become somewhat stressed by the clients that I am dealing with. This last client I went to see actually caused me to be delayed for all of my appointments for the day. I was talking to the client on the phone about the issue going on with his HVAC system. He kept asking me a ton of questions about the cost to have it fixed and everything, but I kept telling him that I had to inspect the system to see what was going on. I couldn’t just tell him what it was going to cost to have everything fixed without knowing exactly what the problem was yet. I tried to explain that to him, but he kept going on about what the HVAC system was doing and how expensive his energy bills were becoming. I was glad when I finally got to the house, but the client still kept bombarding me with questions. I didn’t mind, but it was making it difficult to do my work. I was able to fix the issue without too much hassle and the client requested a payment plan which I was able to set up for him. Regrettably, I was an hour late to the rest of my appointments and a lot of people were angry about it.
