When I moved into our first home, I was just so grateful to be a homeowner.
After all those years of renting, it was so nice to know that I was unquestionably building some equity and owned where I lived.
However, this also came with a bit of a studying curve as well. There was a lot to learn. When the stuff such as the heating & air conditioning unit needed service, it was up to me. And I made sure that this was one of the things that I addressed instantly. I had the Heating & Air Conditioning professional come out to do the heating service early so I knew that the gas furnace would be in good shape for the winter. And that was a fantastic thing. I unquestionably didn’t want to have a heating & air conditioning breakdown in the middle of our first Winter time in our own home. Still, I was sort of shocked at the heating bills that first winter. The heating & air conditioning unit was only 4 years old and was in good shape. Plus, I had the heating & air conditioning business do all the heating service. But what I didn’t know was that preparing the cabin for Winter time was just as pressing as preparing the gas furnace. So this year, I’m on top of getting the cabin sealed up tight for the winter. I replaced a storm door along with all the weather stripping around every entrance. I added insulation to the attic and caulked every gap in the exterior of the cabin that I could find. This Winter time will be a lot warmer in our cabin and I won’t have to pay such high Heating & Air Conditioning heating utility costs either.
