There is something wrong with our new home gas furnace, then everytime I turn on the oil furnace it reeks of burnt hair.
I guess adore this means there is dust, dirt and hair deep inside the heater.
If the heating component is too dusty, it will overheat! Overheating means parts wear out and break, or the oil furnace disfigures itself beyond repair. I want to get rid of the burnt hair odor for safety reasons and that it also is disgusting to odor. Everything I have tried has not worked though. My first attempt was simply increasing the furnace filter in the machine. I got a brand new HEPA filter to catch even more dust from getting into the system, nope, the odor still happened. Next, I tried taking the component totally apart and cleaning the inner workings. I restrained our vacuum hose up there, wiped along the edges and doused the component in bleach, still when the heating plan first turns on, the odor of burnt hair is floating in our air quality. My last attempt was trying our hand at air duct cleaning. I cleaned the air vents and then stuck a broom in the ducts. I tried to get as much dust out of the air ducts as possible. I thought it was possible that maybe the heat was going over that dirt and making the odor. It still odors entirely poor though. So I either did a poor job, or that is not the issue. Now I am thinking I will need to call an HVAC corporation to solve our issue.
