Home automation saves time and money

Smart technology has changed the way I live my life.

I now have a monitor in the dashboard of my vehicle that offers turn-by-turn directions, allows me to text and plays my favorite music.

I have a smart phone that calls, texts, accesses the internet and takes better photographs than any camera I’ve ever owned. Every new appliance I purchase typically includes wifi connectivity and an app for operation and troubleshooting. Everything from the thermostat to the washing machine can be controlled by way of my phone. It was getting complicated and confusing. I wasn’t utilizing these opportunities to their best advantage. I finally decided to create a smart home. I invested into a home automation system. This system combines the management of all essential systems into a single hub. From one centralized control, I can make adjustments, set up programs, check energy efficiency and verify proper performance. I also receive notifications. I know when someone steps onto my front porch. No matter where I happen to be, I can access a camera, lock or unlock the door and even converse with the person. I also get alerts when there is a power outage, indoor temperature fluctuation or it’s time to replace the air filters in the furnace or air conditioner. Whether I’m at work, on vacation or sitting on my couch, I can raise or lower temperature setting, turn on lights, check surveillance cameras or start up the dishwasher. Having the home automation system saves me time, money and work. I take better care of the water heater, furnace, air conditioner, sump pump and all of my major appliances and face fewer repairs. Just having a thermostat that automatically adjusts according the location of my family members has helped to save a great deal of money on heating and cooling bills.
