I bought the house for the sunroom.

I remembered staying with my grandmother as much as possible when she was still alive.

She had a small room off the living room that served as a parlor.

It was only about eight feet wide, but it was twenty feet long. There were windows on all sides, except where it joined to the house. We spent hours sitting out there and watching the snow fly, or the bees buzzing around her roses. It was some of the best memories I had. When grandma passed away, dad got rid of the room and made the house bigger. There were six kids in our family, and bedrooms and bathrooms were more important than sunrooms. By the time I graduated from college, I already had a good job and I wanted to buy a house. The only thing I demanded of a house was that it had a sunroom. I never thought about how I was going to heat or cool the sunroom if it didn’t already have HVAC installed. I knew HVAC was going to be important if I wanted the sunroom to be usable. I talked to the local HVAC company and asked what they thought about putting HVAC into my sunroom. The HVAC technician told me it wouldn’t be easy to get heating or air conditioning into the room since it was the furthest from the HVAC system. He said we could install a ductless HVAC system, which thrilled me. I couldn’t wait until they had my ductless HVAC system installed so I could sit in the sunroom and drink coffee while watching the sun come up.
