Periodically I’m amazed at the excuses that people tend to make up for themselves. It seems like people always wish to say that they can’t do things rather than they don’t want to do things, which honestly seems backwards to me. I don’t even know why you would make yourself incapable voluntarily, and anyways I think it’s a form of removing responsibility to take the simple way out. I have been seeing a lot of that lately… especially with the people that I actually work with. A good amount of them are pretty unhealthy and do not try undoubtedly hard to get back in reasonable shape. No matter what time of year it is they have a reason why it’s the weather’s fault that they are out of shape! This time of year everyone is saying that it’s just too damn sizzling to step outside and actually work up a sweat. In fact, they often say it’s too sizzling to be outside and do just about anything – let alone get some actual exercise. They seriously insist that if they tried to go running around the block there would be certain overheating and near-death from the overwhelming heat of the rays of the sun. I hate to tell them that there are a ton of possibilities besides running around in the sunlight. Of course that feels pretty horrible. But what about working out in a gym where there’s an A/C machine? That’s always an option isn’t it? If you can’t take going to the gym but you need the a/c machine, how about you invest in some home workout videos for yourself. Then you can always blast your own a/c machine as high as you wish… You can also blow some fans around to make it feel a great deal cooler and fresher – you are in control of the situation. If none of that sounds like a fantastic option to you then you could do what I do and just go run around in the woods. I believe the shade is like natural a/c… No matter what your preference is, you can find a way to get plenty of exercise in the summertime separate from killing yourself in the heat.
