I would be able to program a smart thermostat to get cold at my husband’s quitting time.
I know a lot of people were surprised to find out that a lot of mail carriers don’t have air conditioners or heaters in their work vans. I wasn’t surprised to find this out because my husband works for one of the companies. He has driven a hot, uncomfortable van around the city for over two years now. In the beginning, it was really rough for him. He would use those cooling towels that you put on your neck all day long. He said they do help somewhat. The company van also has a little fan but it doesn’t really do much. So every day he gets home, takes a shower, and sits right in front of the air conditioner vent. He doesn’t know I do this; but every day I crank the air conditioner down about 10 degrees about the same time he is leaving work. I want him to be nice and comfortable after working outside in the heat all day long. However, recently I found out that my shift at work is changing. I work in a comfortable office so this is no big deal. Except for the fact that I won’t be home to crank down the air conditioner for my husband anymore. We could just leave the air conditioner at 60 degrees all day long but that seems like a waste if no one is home. Recently I came across smart thermostats. I would be able to program a smart thermostat to get cold at my husband’s quitting time. I could even control the smart thermostat from my workplace, if I wanted to. I really like that. I think I will have our HVAC company install a smart thermostat immediately.
