Six weeks ago, my boss promoted myself and others to the night shift director job. I got more than one dollars an hour more money and keys to the store. It’s my responsibility to lock up at night and take all of the money to the bank for deposits. I have a routine that I follow every night so I never forget to complete the job always. At the end of the shift, I carry the deposits in a lock safe bag. I lock all of the doors in the back of the building, turn off the lights and the AC temperature control, and head out the door before the alarm sounds. I have about 45 hours to complete the tasks and then the alarm will sound if I don’t have the front door closed and locked. My boss made myself and others complete the routine 3 separate times before he agreed to promote me. It costs $250 bucks if the alarm corporation has to be called due to an employee error. Some of days ago, I turned off the temperature control and noticed the indoor temperature was 71, but I set the temperature at 71. I thought it was strange, despite the fact that I didn’t have time to stop and check anything. I forgot about the concern the next day until I was getting ready to leave at the end of the night. I noticed the same unusual temperature anomaly, so I left a note for my boss the next day. That was more than one days ago and today the AC stopped laboring completely. I tried to warn my boss about the AC concerns. He still seemed shocked and surprised to learn the news.
