I was having a problem with my furnace last month and I wanted to have it repaired.
- The HVAC tech who came to the house, told me I needed a new furnace.
The furnace I had was only five years old. How was he able to tell me I needed a new furnace when he had only spent ten minutes downstairs. I told him my furnace wasn’t that old and I didn’t believe he was serious. He told me that if I didn’t believe him then I should have another HvAC tech come to the house, but I would have to pay for another service call. Another service call wasn’t going to cost me as much as a new furnace would cost, and I ushered him out the door. I called the HVAC company back and told them what had happened with their HVAC tech. The woman I talked to told me they hadn’t dispatched a tech yet, so she wasn’t sure who I had talked to. I gave her the name of the technician. She told me there wasn’t a technician in the office by that name. I told her I wanted to talk to the owner of the HVAC company. She put me through to him and I was surprised when he answered the phone. I told him what happened and he offered to send a tech to the house within the hour. He said if I had any problems he would personally come over and look at the furnace. I wasn’t being charged for the service call and I was glad I didn’t have to pay for any parts.
