Just a lot of control units-not zone control

When my bestie and I moved into our apartment, it looked like we had zone control. The loft had several rooms and in each room there was a control unit. We had at least several control units hanging around… I heard about HVAC zone control. I figured that by changing the room control unit, it would only affect that space. We could set the room HVAC differently and save some money in the process! My bestie and I were so gleeful to have such a high tech system. We spent a few weeks deciding on the different room un-even temperatures. We wanted heavy AC in the home office, heating in the home office, a modest temperature in the kitchen and no HVAC running in the office. It took us several weeks to realize that all the rooms felt the same. The control component learn the same for every space. If I changed the home office to cooling, every other room reflected that temperature. We distraught for a bit that the HVAC zone control system was on a different program or installed. After some research we realized that the loft just had several control units, then for zone control, the rooms should have indoor air handlers all affixed to an outdoor air compressor, nope, we have central HVAC; So we don’t have HVAC zone control or even a slight capability for it. The several of us ripped down all the control units and we have the basic HVAC equipment that most people else has. It was kind of a big letdown because we thought the HVAC was something special. Instead it is what we have constantly had.
