I took my boyfriend to my parents house on Sunday for dinner. I really wanted them to meet Brad. Brad and I have been dating for six weeks. Things are still new, but I really think that Brad is a great guy. We were friends for a couple of months before we started dating. We met at the library, when both of us were looking for the same school book. I took Brad to my parents for dinner and my mom made a very special meal. Halfway through dinner, Brad and my parents were getting along very well. Everyone was laughing and making jokes. Unfortunately, the room started to become tense when the AC unit stopped working. There was an abrupt noise in the basement and then the air vents started putting out warm air. My dad got up and went to the basement to look at the AC unit. He was gone for 10 or 15 minutes, and then my boyfriend got up and stated he was going downstairs to offer a helping hand. I didn’t know if my boyfriend knew anything about AC repair or not, but I was truly impressed that he wanted to come to the rescue. I was even more impressed when he managed to fix the problem with the AC unit. Brad didn’t tell me that his dad was an AC repair technician. Apparently he spent a lot of time helping his dad in the shop while he was going to college. He learned a lot about AC repairs during that time. That knowledge was very handy on Sunday.
