My dad wanted to know if a heat pump was a good investment

I always find it funny when my dad calls me to seek HVAC advice.

He isn’t a bad man or anything like that.

However, he is a professor. So, for him, going to university was important. Both my sisters followed this path, and one is even a lecturer abroad. However, I was never into books and school. I enjoyed sports, but not to the level of playing in college. Instead, I told dad I wanted to go to a community college and study a trade. One time I spoke with our counselor at school about my concerns about my future. She knew I was smart, but school wasn’t working out. So, she did her best to push me to get a GED, then advised me to look into trade school. That’s when I came across HVAC, and a career as a heating and cooling professional. Dad tried his best to be supportive, but I knew it wasn’t easy for him as a college professor. However, now he agrees that I made the right decision since I have a thriving HVAC career. I work for a top HVAC company that offers commercial and residential services. It’s been such a great experience learning and growing in my field. And the fruits of my labor are clearly visible in my life. The other day dad called to ask if investing in a heat pump was a good idea. He’d moved down south, and the heat was getting to be a bit too much. Someone told him about heat pumps and he wanted to know my opinion about the heating and cooling unit.
