I am going to use the gas furnace less often
Just last week, I took our dog to the vet, he was scratching all the time. I didn’t see any fleas on his or notice any evidence of fleas in the house, and therefore, I was becoming upset that he might have some sort of dust sensitivity or something; All that scratching is enough to drive me crazy, & I figure the terrible boy must be sick of it, as well. The vet looked back over his history & observed that he was brought in for itching at this time of year numerous times. That is when we figured out that it is the dry Winter air that is making his itchy. It is tplot that the forced air heating I use in our lake house does make the air drier. In fact, I don’t even love to use the heating idea at all because it dries out our sinuses & makes our lips chapped. I just never thought the gas furnace would cause our god problems as well. Now that we have it figured out, though, it is time to do something about it. I am going to try 3 things. I am going to use the gas furnace less often. If it is just slightly cold, I am going to use more blankets & less heating, plus, I am going to get a dehumidifier, however using the dehumidifier will likely help the dog’s itchy skin & our headaches. Third, I am going to feed the dog vitamin E oil capsules. I use lotion when the gas furnace is on, so he likely needs a little moistening, too, and less frequent use of the gas furnace will likely be the best thing.
