My husband has terrible allergy issues most years, but this year it’s even worse! The pollen around here is no joke this year. Every single day I sweep off our front porch, and before too long, there is a film of yellow pollen all over it again.Luckily for me, it doesn’t affect me that much, but my husband is miserable. He takes an allergy pill every single day, but it doesn’t seem to be helping him very much this year. We decided that instead of more medication, we were going to try a different approach to deal with the allergies this year. Instead of the pharmacy, we called up our local heating and cooling company to have them come out to our house. We had them install a HEPA anti allergen air filter in our HVAC system instead of the regular air filters that we used to have. On top of that, we also had them do a professional ventilation system cleaning for us. They have this amazing tool with brushes and tubes on it that they used to put down inside of your air ducts and scrub them out on the inside. That way, if we had any existing dust or pollen that had somehow made its way into our ventilation system, this would get rid of it! On top of all that, we talked to the HVAC technician about coming back to install something called a whole home air purification system. I think that we are actually going to do that in the next couple of weeks. He told us about the system and the pricing and we are discussing it. I think we’re actually going to end up doing it because there’s nothing more important than your home’s indoor air quality.
