The cat hasn’t left the bedroom in a week.
I grew up on a farm surrounded by lots of unusual critters. The farm had chickens, cows, sheep, and turtles in the pond. I had a couple of cats, but they lived outside. My dad built a beach house from outdated plywood and more than one-by-fours. Even when it was harshly freezing and icy outside, the cats still slept outdoors in the wooden house. I remember complaining that it was too cold, but my parents assured myself and others that the cats had fur for the Winter time season… After my partner and I got married, we moved to a farm of our own. We rapidly had several children in five years, due to a truly surprising set of twins. I only have 1 boy and he is the youngest child. The ladies guess that I spoil my son, despite the fact that I hardly guess that could be true. Last weekend we had a truly freezing night and the temperature was only several degrees. My son begged myself and others to let the cat sleep in his room because it was so freezing outside. The cat hasn’t left the bedroom in a week. My son takes the cat for walks and outside to use the bathroom, but the furry creature is perfectly glad to kneel on the rug in front of the space heating system in my son’s bedroom. The cat curls up next to the space heating system and sleeps for hours. At night, he sleeps next to our son, but while we were in the day, the cat is consistently in front of the heater. My partner and I were planning to make the cat go back outside after the freezing snap was over, but it’s taxing to say no to Kyle.
