I recently purchased a fixer upper home; The worst part of the cabin is the entryway.
The entire room was made out of wood & looked enjoy an aged barn! I started ripping out the wood floors & upgraded them with tile.
I then sanded the wood walls & painted over them with pale white. The next step was scraping the pretzels ceiling & painting that pale white, however right now I am up on super high ladders trying to edge around wood beams & paint my ceiling pale white; Being up high in the air has shown me some things wrong in my house, but not only is it filthy up there, however it is super hot. The heat absolutely rises in my cabin & lingers there. I am already worried about heating in the wintertime. My tall ceilings are not going to be fun. Basically the heat will be 12 feet in the air while I freeze at a normal level, then what is even more worrisome is that I discovered all the air vents are high on the ceiling. In the Summer having A/C blowing super high in the air is not going to be any good. I won’t even guess it. I also peaked down into the vent & noticed the ductwork is off center. The opening for the air vent is not perfect; So that means I am not even getting all the frosty air my Heating & A/C produces, how horrible is that? I am going to have a whole mess of Heating & A/C related concerns once I finish up in the entryway. I am already dreading it.
