Overheated Haunted House

At least we got to enjoy the feel of the wind

My family took a trip to an amusement park this past summer. Our favorite family attraction is the haunted house. It is always cool inside and there’s typically is air blowing from hidden vents. Because the park is located in a hot area of the country, they typically provide a working air conditioner in the haunted house. After a very long drive, we found that the amusement park was extremely crowded. We needed to park a long distance away and walk to the entrance. The heat from the blacktop was excruciating. We then waited in a huge line to get inside the park. By the time we finally got our tickets and got into line for the haunted house, we were all drenched in sweat. We noticed that the wait for the haunted was longer than any other attraction. We assumed this was because everyone wanted to take advantage of the air conditioning. We stepped inside the haunted house and were shocked at how warm it was. The air conditioner didn’t seem to be operating and there was no hint of any air moving. We were all extremely uncomfortable. Everyone was rushing to get through the overheated house as quickly as possible. Although the rides are all situated in the direct sunlight and offer no possibility of air conditioning, they were the best choice. At least we got to enjoy the feel of the wind. We ended up leaving the amusement park much earlier than we planned. We were anxious to get into the car and get the air conditioner blasting some cool at at us.
