My Grandma has a entirely small apartment so she just uses a blow-up mattress for guests whenever they visit.
- I was planning a visit in August.
A month before my arrival, I called my Grandma as well as the two of us were talking about my trip. She was super excited… However, she told me that she is having trouble finding a mattress that doesn’t leak. She said she blows up the mattresses as well as they have lost air a few hours later. I told her the two of us would figure it out when I arrived but I found it peculiar that so many mattresses were leaking. Once I got to her apartment, I figured out the problem. It’s not the mattresses at all. It’s the air conditioner. My Grandma keeps her new home at about 60 degrees at night as well as over 73 during the day. This temperature change is why the mattresses look like they have lost air. Thankfully, the two of us were able to rectify the situation by just re-inflating the mattress. I then explained the reason to my Grandma so that she wouldn’t waste a lot of money on new mattresses next time someone visits, and essentially, changing the air temperature swings how much air pressure is in the mattress, with the temperature control going up as well as down so severely, there’s no wonder that the mattress looked flat. I’m not sure Grandma understood absolutely but I think she got the gist of it. You just have to re-inflate the mattress next time. Either that, or not turn your air conditioner so low at night. I have to say, I was chilly.
