There is this old oak tree that historically stands right outside of my window.
The tree had been dead long before I moved into my new home.
I should have had it taken down, however it had character plus I couldn’t morally have it removed. Over the last couple years, the tree’s creaking was getting louder and louder every time the wind blew. I could see it waving in the wind plus I swore to myself that it was leaning closer to the house. I said something about it to my partner plus he rapidly dismissed my worry with a wave of his hand. I was to where even the slightest breeze actually had myself and others worried, plus if every one of us had a real wind storm, it scared me a lot. If that tree fell, it was going to take out the main power feed to the house. We easily would be without lights plus Heating, Ventilation & A/C. We lived in a section where you had to have either an air conditioner or heat system running, nearly all year round. I didn’t want to be without Heating, Ventilation & A/C at any point. I tried to convince my partner that but I didn’t love the idea of taking the tree down; clearly it was time. It wasn’t until a blizzard dropped almost three feet of snow on the ground, plus suddenly every one of us had sixty miles an minute winds howling for over twenty hours, that he agreed. The wind knocked several of the limbs off the tree. My partner finally said every one of us were lucky they didn’t fall on the house. It would knock out power, for sure, plus our heating system would not be running.
