I had to drag all of my tools up the ladder and across the roof
As an AC repair technician, I have to think on my feet. I need to be able to solve problems quickly. I have to be able to evaluate and resolve a situation quickly. I honestly like that part of my job. Sometimes it can be boring day after day, but each repair is like a puzzle that needs to be solved. A few months ago, the owner of the heating and AC repair company where I work picked up a new commercial client. The commercial client owns an eight suite office building and we are in charge of servicing all of the heating and AC needs. One of the suites was experiencing AC problems, so the owner of the building called the place where I work. I was assigned to help with the repair. It was my first time on the property and I was very surprised when I realized that all of the AC units are on top of the building. In fact, they are located on a slope on the backside of the building where it is extremely difficult to place a ladder. I had to climb up one side of the building and walk across the roof to the other side where the AC unit is located. I had to drag all of my tools up the ladder and across the roof. It was one of the hardest AC units that I have ever had to fix. I have no idea how we would replace the equipment if a brand new AC unit is necessary. We would need a forklift or a crane just to put the machine in the proper position.
