My husband pitched in and started helping with the repairs
When we went to church last week, everyone walked out of the doors with their ears ringing. The HVAC system was so loud, we couldn’t hear the sermon. Several of the men from the church volunteered to help with the repairs, but the pastor said everything was all right. He already had an HVAC technician ready to do the repairs on Monday. My husband wasn’t so sure if the pastor was believable because he didn’t volunteer who the HVAC technician was, but I did. His wife told me that before he went into the ministry, our pastor was an HVAC technician. He always repaired the HVAC equipment in the church and in the parish. If one of the older parishioners had problems with their HVAC system, he would go to the house and make the repairs for nothing. She said they spent many hours wondering how they were going to pay for heating or air conditioning parts, but something always came along to help with the expense. I didn’t want to say anything to my husband, so I left him to go to the church the next day to offer his help. He said it truly surprised him to see the pastor in jeans and an old t-shirt, working on the HVAC system. He was even more surprised to learn he was an HVAC technician. My husband pitched in and started helping with the repairs. By the time he and the pastor were done, the HVAC system sounded like new. When they were done, his wife came out and handed them both a beer and said that dinner was almost ready.
