The era of local contractors and due diligence

So you identify a problem with your mini split air conditioner, furnace/heater or commercial air conditioning and the first step is calling an a/c repairman.

You then follow up with your calendar check only to realize you missed something important like heat pump repair.

I recently found myself in that predicament only that the a/c professional I hired was not a local contractor and getting him to come back and check on my shop’s commercial air conditioning system would be a tall order until I could secure an appointment two days later. This incident made me resolve to always work with a local a/c rep regardless of the kind of work I wanted done including energy saving help and would recommend the same for my loved ones whether you have heated floors or ductless HVAC. When I hired a local professional for the furnace/heater repair, it turned out that instead of fixing the unit, the other repairman before him had actually made away with some parts of the units forcing me to spend extra cash on repairs. I have since learnt that the capacitor is among the parts that is stolen the most. I now practice due diligence. A well-known person in your locality will have referrals and this is where I did go wrong when sourcing for a ductless heat pump. I really should have asked for a referral and got the best from my friends and my family. When it comes to a local technician always make sure they are established as well.
