The window air conditioners are breaking my back

And last, but not least, I insisted on purchasing air conditioners that had a high efficiency rating

Some people have great insight into the future. Others, such as myself, don’t. I’m referring to making a plan, budgeting for it, and following through. One example of this shortcoming of mine is that I just never get around to having central air conditioning installed in my home. When I first lived here, I didn’t have the money to take on such an expense. So I opted for window air conditioners, one for the living room and one for the bedroom. I was pretty proud of myself since I waited until the end of the air conditioning season to make my purchase. I also thought that I had made a great choice in the model and its many modern features. I had researched enough to know that the thermostat is one of the most important things to spend a bit more on. I chose the thermostat that was digital, one which allowed for specific degree setting. I noticed that some of the cheaper models offered only high and low fan speed settings. Again, I spent a bit more in order to get high, low, medium, and automatic fan speeds. I really treated myself by selecting a model that allowed for remote control adjustments, especially for my bedroom. The remote control sits right on my bed stand for easy access. I actually didn’t opt for the automatic timer. I figured that I’d keep the settings the same without figuring out when I wanted the house to be cooler. Besides, the costs were starting to add up. And last, but not least, I insisted on purchasing air conditioners that had a high efficiency rating. So it’s not that I don’t like the two window air conditioners, because I do. But the two times a year that I have to lift them to put them in and take them out of the windows, my back really pays for it.
