In my home, temperature preferences were a big deal.
Everyone in the family had a different idea of what the ideal temperature was.
I am the cooler guy, I like cooler weather and the air conditioner is my best friend, this is especially true during the hot summer months. My son is the same way, and also likes cooler temperatures. Winter is his favorite season. However, the ladies of our household feel differently. My wife and my daughter are big fans of the warmer weather. They love the summer and the heat that comes with it, and while they may be enjoying themselves having some fun in the sun, my son and I are inside enjoying the a/c. As you might imagine this vast difference in temperature changes caused some issues. For quite some time we simply tried to reach a middle ground and would keep our temperatures in the mid 70s in the home. But then one day I was online on the website of a heating and cooling business, I was purchasing some washable air filters to add to the HVAC system as I normally do around the time they need to be replaced, when I noticed some new items that I had not previously seen. I saw a zone controlled HVAC system. I was curious as to what it was and so I did some reading on it and was thrilled when I saw that it allowed you to control the temperature separately in different parts of the house. I told my wife and we agreed to purchase the zone controlled heating and cooling system. By next week the HVAC technician had come out and installed it and now we all could have our rooms set to the temperatures we desired.
