A customer called the repair service on Tuesday and made an appointment.
The woman told me that she was hearing a strange sound coming from the ductwork.
She told me that it sounded like there was something moving around. The last time a customer told me that she heard a noise like this, it turned out to be a significant mice infestation. I was hoping not to deliver the same bad news to the customer again. As soon as I arrived at the home of the customer, I began to ask a bunch of questions about the system. I was trying to figure out what could be wrong. The customer advised me that it had been a very long time since the last time that her ductwork was cleaned and sanitized. I checked the ductwork for a problem first. I figured that was the easiest place to start. This particular customer had AC vents on the floorboards of her home. I carefully moved through the house checking on each one of the air vents. I found one particular air vent where the flow of air was much less than the others. I decided to conduct an experiment. I removed the vent cover and I turned on the ac. There was only a small amount of air coming out of the system. I reached my hand as far into the ductwork as possible and I felt something strange and unfamiliar. I grabbed a hold of the object and started to pull it closer to me. When I got the object close to the end of the ductwork, I could finally make out what the item was. It turned out to be an old sneaker. The woman claimed that she had never seen that sneaker before.
