I guess there is sort of a time to let go of my youth.
Some might say that I waited too long.
But 36 seemed like the right time to start to focus more on being an adult. And now, I own my own HVAC equipment. I even had to buy a lawnmower for the small patch of yard I have in the back. Yea, homeownership has a way of sort of getting you hip to some responsibilities. Before being responsible for my own quality heating and air, I’d be doing well just to get the oil changed on my car. That’s the honest truth. I was far more interested in working hard in the zone controlled HVAC of the office. And then, I was pretty into blowing off steam with my buddies and having a lot of fun. But there is only so much money to go around and if I wanted to get out of the so so heating and cooling of my apartment, I had to tighten up a bit. Now that I have my own home and my own heat pump, I saw quickly that I had to step my game up even another level. A house comes with plenty of responsibilities and the HVAC chores were part of them. So I started setting alarms on my phone to alert me to change the HVAC air filter each month. And I tried to makes sure the weeds and yard debris were kept off the HVAC equipment outside. The HVAC maintenance I leave to the HVAC service plan I joined soon after moving into my home.
