Wellness and recovery programs helped me get out of obesity and finally get healthy

I started to put on weight in fourth grade after I broke my leg and had to stay off my feet for two months straight.

It wasn’t easy for me because I was so active at that age.

I was used to playing soccer and street hockey with my friends down the street. But once I got that cast put on, I was laying on the couch and watching TV for hours everyday. My grandmother wasn’t helping when she bought me donuts as treats whenever she visited our house. She also brought me candy and soda, all of which amounted to thousands of empty calories. By the time I reached middle school, other kids started to call me fat. I hated being made fun of for my weight problems, especially when it started with a major injury to my leg. But now that I’m 30, it’s my responsibility alone to get healthy and thin again. There are a lot of gyms in my city, but I wanted to find one with personally tailored wellness and recovery programs to help with rapid weight loss. The fitness center that I chose has unparalleled nutritional counseling, especially for people who aren’t accustomed to weight training and dieting. They slowly transitioned me into making healthier choices with my eating and my physical activities. I found a love for rollerblading again that I hadn’t experienced since I was a child. Although I could still benefit from losing another 15 pounds, I’m happy to say that I no longer have an obese BMI. I have a much healthier diet and I get exercise three to four times a week.
