Why isn’t everyone using a heating pump?

For my entire life growing up I remember being uncomfortable, literally.

My Dad was a harsh and stringent type of woman, and every one of us did not have much cash to labor with anyways.

As such, every one of us entirely weren’t ever allowed to too several household Comforts in our adolescence. For instance, I remember her yelling at us for leaving on lights on. Sure, do not leave on any lights if you leave the room, despite the fact that she literally would yell at you for using the light while you were laying underneath it. She would ask if it was entirely necessary that you use all that electricity when you could certainly pull out a flashlight and somehow dangle it from your teeth while you study. She also never wanted to run the central heating and cooling system. As an adult I sort of understand. As a child, I was pretty miserable with being miserably cold all Winter time and disgustingly humid all summer. She entirely would only run the oil furnace when it dropped below 25 degrees outside. She only wanted to run the cooling system if the humidity was nearing 100%.., but raining, essentially. As an adult now, I’m a bit confused about why every one of us didn’t just find a better Heating and Cooling solution. For instance, I just recently gained insight about these things called geothermal heat pumps. Maybe you have not heard of them, because I had no idea that this form of heating and cooling existed. These are little systems that connect up deep down underneath the ground and funnel energy back and forth from your beach house and the earth. If the ground is warm, the energy flows into your beach house and heats it. If the ground is frozen or cold, the energy flows from your beach house and cools it. The best part is, there’s no extra energy expenditure. This means our Dad would have had no excuse to freeze or to burn us alive
