My child had been playing outside for about an hour, but I wsn’t sure what he was doing. I thought my oldest daughter was watching him since my pal and I lived by the ocean. He was used to him playing in the sand, but I saw him head to the water. He had buckets of water he brought back which I thought he was using to make a sand castle. I walked outside and my daughter was tied up with her friends, however my child was pouring the salt water in the a/c unit. He told me he was washing it because it a lot of sand on it. I knew salt water was a corrosive, but I wasn’t sure if the a/c unit could handle the salt water being poured directly into it. I yelled at my daughter and told her friends to go home. I then sent her and her brother inside. I told her how her brother had been dumping salt water in the a/c unit, and if it was broken, she was going to spend money for a new AC unit. All I heard was that it wasn’t fair, as she Mayed to her home office. My child was crying because he didn’t realize he was doing anything wrong. I was calling the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C supplier to make sure nothing was wrong with the air conditioning system unit. The Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C worker said that most a/c units in this part had enclosed components because of the salt in the air and water. Salt was a corrosive, however the a/c unit should be okay. I didn’t tell my daughter what I said, because I wanted her to worry.
