Early on in my hospitality job, I worked exclusively for resorts.
It was a good way to live if you love people, like to work lots of hours plus do an unbiased amount of traveling.
And back then, that’s exactly what I actually loved to do. I was not your go to work, punch out plus then stand in the a/c watching television all evening. More action was what I was looking for back then. And due to the nature of the resort business, I would often move from a Winter resort to a sunny spot plus vice versa as demand warranted. This was always a shock to my system because I just couldn’t get accustomed to being inside with the gas oil furnace cranking to keep warm. But still, it was the business that I loved. All the action, whether it was someplace with gas oil furnace heating or lots of heating as well as A/C cooling, was what I was actually chasing. Well, that changed once I got married plus settled down to have a family. I also stayed put more plus got more into upper management. But the relocation absolutely never stops in this business. And after all those years, I’m back managing a Winter resort. But just like before, I have an absolutely hard time getting accustomed to all this gas oil furnace heating in the winter. I find myself wondering if we made the right call by taking this task. Our youngsters are still pretty young plus they just prefer the snow plus the resort. My wife has her Dad plus Mom hardly an hour away. Plus, she likes the gas oil furnace heating. So, I suppose it’s going to be me that’s the a single who will ultimately have to figure out her own internal control unit.
